IFRS9 Analyst

This is a newly created role working for a rapidly growing lending business that is increasing headcount by 20% this year. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be at the intersection of finance, risk, and data, ensuring accurate valuation of lending products and leading the impairment and EIR reporting. Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the monthly reporting of EIR revenue and impairment charges to the rest of the finance team.
  • Lead review and improvement of impairment models reporting to meet best practices and standards.
  • Enhance insights into impairment charge variances (actuals vs forecast) and feed back into credit strategy.
  • Build internal impairment-related MI and support ad-hoc deep-dive analyses.
  • Present MI and insights at forums such as projects and credit risk committee.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify efficiency opportunities and improve customer outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate booking and valuation of loans and funding instruments.
  • Work with the Data team to manage data pipelines feeding credit risk models, validated data sources, dashboards and reporting
  • Monitor and assist with reconciliation of lending-related balance sheet items

The successful candidate will have experience of IFRS9, particularly EIR & ECL and be ACA/ACCA qualified.

This could be a great first move for candidates working currently within top 10 audit firms supporting banking/lending clients and looking for their next step within industry.

Experience of SQL desirable not essential but a willingness to learn is necessary

Salary: £65-75,000 base + package
Location: Central London / Hybrid
